12 Acts of Cabaret: Mitchell Butel - Killing Time @ QPAC (Brisbane)

A thousand dreams, a handful of loves, too many martinis and 24 hours packed into one night of song.

Two-time Helpmann and Green Room Award winner, Mitchell Butel returns to the cabaret stage after presenting this show at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival last year and star turns in Avenue Q, Dusty, The Venetian Twins and Hair in a hilarious and poignant performance backed by a white hot jazz trio lead by Daryl Wallis. Weaving his way through a night of song and verse including works by Ellington, Jordan, Monk, Bernstein, Mercer, Elling, Pink Floyd, Sondheim and Shorter, Killing Time is a tale of 24 hours in the life of himself and oruselves.

“an absolute triumph. Expertly crafted, miraculous and pricelessly funny” - Adelaide Advertiser

“Butel is a lightning-rod performer - electrically good.” - Australian Financial Review
