Grocery Girls Gone Wild OR Lock Up Your Porters

What do you get when you cross two hairy actors with the music of Cole Porter and a misguided devotion to Lisa McCune?

Adelaide it’s time to Check Out Lysa Nads and Leesa Alopecia. They’re two No Frills Home Brand girls, trapped, scanning their options whilst navigating the turnstile of life.

Devotees of everything Lisa McCune, they sing their dreams of a life outside their generic existence. Fate plays its hand, and with baskets tightly packed, facing the prospect of a world of twelve items or less, they dare to carry more.

Will they fulfil their dreams and become the next Australian Reality Trash Stars? Watch in utter disbelief, as our heroines (created by Michael Lindner and David Gauci) make their move on an unexpecting world ably assisted by the Spot the Red Special Dazzling Dollar Dancers

Enjoy this cabaret event with a glass of your favourite bevy within the confines of your own private chair in the Star Theatre’s Number Two (theatre). Fully licensed with snack food available, sit and wonder if the music of Cole Porter will ever be the same again! Adult concepts and language abound.

‘These girls worth checking out…a John Waters-inspired white-trash makeover…performed with frock popping exuberance…’ The Age 2006

‘These girls are definitely worth checking out’ MX February 2008

‘Cole’s Girls is laugh ‘til it hurts stuff. Satirical, crude and just damn hilarious; these cheap… scrags are as special as the Boxing Day sales with an unlimited credit card. These girls know Cole Porter, musical theatre, supermarkets, outer suburbs, Centrelink, reality TV, lost Aussie soaps and everything that is, was and ever shall be the cult of being an Aussie starlet’ Anne-Marie Peard Feb 2008.
